Information we may collect

• VINs submitted for decoding or report availability requests.
• Email address and contact details if you submit a form or create an account.
• Technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and security logs.
• Payment information is handled by the payment processor. ALTAVIN does not store full card numbers.

How we use information

We use information to provide VIN decoding, generate requested reports, save account history, respond to support requests, improve the website, prevent abuse and maintain security.

Vehicle data providers

If paid reports are enabled, VINs and related request information may be shared with contracted vehicle data providers solely to generate the requested report under applicable provider terms.

Personal data limitations

ALTAVIN does not seek to display protected personal information about vehicle owners. Vehicle history reports are intended to describe vehicle events and records, not to identify private individuals.
