What decoding can show
A decode can identify year, make, model, body class, engine, fuel type, manufacturer and plant country when the public VIN data contains those values.
What decoding cannot prove
It cannot prove accident history, salvage title, ownership, auction photos, theft, liens or odometer events. Those require separate data sources.
When to continue to a report
Order a full report when the vehicle is expensive, imported, sold at auction, has inconsistent photos or the seller cannot provide clear documents.
